Does Windows 10 IoT need to be patched on a regular monthly basis?
Windows Security patches can be downloaded through the Zoom Portal ZDM. We use LTSB (Long Term Service Branch) and LTSC (Long Term Service Channel) because feature updates are not as often and updates are optional as well. DTEN recommends regular update intervals for Zoom Rooms application and DTEN firmware versions for optimal performance for all of your DTEN devices, including Windows patches for D7 units with Windows OS.
Do most Enterprise customers install security software such as antivirus, firewall, etc. on their DTEN devices?
Depend on customer need. Usually, bigger tech companies have more strict internal rules regarding OS. We recommend consulting with your IT support on your device security processes.
How much CPU on average does the unit use when running Zoom Rooms?
It depends on the video quality and sharing features that are running in a meeting.
A standard D5 and D7 can run a meeting up to 60 participants.
What causes the high CPU usage?
A common cause for high CPU usage is the resolution is too high.
Check your resolution setting by going to Windows Settings → Screen/ Display settings
and set the screen resolution to 1080p and 59p refresh rate.
